About us

Scotland is home to some of the UK's greatest multicultural and diverse cities, but in some cases, the statistics mask a deeper underlying issue: Integration. Being surrounded by people of various ethnicities and backgrounds is one thing, building relationships with them is another.

One Scotland grew out of the One Edinburgh Initiative, an initiative launched in August 2020 designed to help facilitate better integration of student communities. With the 2021 expansion to Glasgow, Stirling and Aberdeen, One Scotland emerged as the parent organisation and is a registered SCIO. Supported by some of Scotland's most experienced leaders, including Lord Provosts, Consul Generals, the UK's Ambassador to the United Nations, as well as other accomplished leaders, the initiative seeks to play a vital role in building a future network through collaboration.

Developing a better mutual understanding through cultural exchange and immersion is at the heart of One Scotland.

"This world of ours... must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect"

- Dwight D. Eisenhower
